A small bridge between worlds
I Am Here Now extends a radio-controlled Arduino clock with a QR-code link to a satisfaction survey. The documented hardware combines a WWVB receiver, a PCF8523 real-time clock, and a wider RGB LED display.
The timekeeping responsibilities remain separate: the receiver supplies synchronization, the RTC maintains time, and the display presents the configured local time alongside the link. A startup signal visualizer helps explain acquisition rather than hiding it.
Preserve the hardware caveats
The implementation is specifically designed for WWVB. The README also warns that the display and USB activity can interfere with reception, so physical separation of the antenna can be necessary.
This is a useful product lesson: a web integration begins before the browser opens. The display must be readable, the code must be scannable, and the device must explain when its time source is unavailable.
Connect the physical and web paths
The device's job is to make a destination available in a physical setting. A usable result depends on display readability, scan reliability, and a meaningful page at the other end of the link. The clock and signal visualizer add context, but they do not substitute for checking that complete interaction on the actual device.
